Automated publication

Event pages and posts on X are generated from structured seismic bulletins. Each post links directly to the event, uses an accessible image description and states that it is not an official JMA alert. Automation must avoid sensational or speculative language.

A correction normally updates the existing event and may be published as a clearly labelled follow-up. Cancelled or preliminary reports must not be presented as confirmed.

AI-assisted editorial work

AI tools support parts of the editorial workflow, including drafting, restructuring, language review and translation suggestions for guides. AI output is not treated as a seismic source and does not alter structured earthquake measurements, Shindo values, tsunami statuses or source bulletins.

Languages and corrections

Official Japanese names are retained. English labels use official or code-linked multilingual data where available. Interface and explanatory translations are editorial content and may be corrected independently from the source bulletin.

Material errors should be corrected promptly and transparently. Source bulletins remain available in the event history when legally and technically appropriate.

Advertising

Advertising is clearly separated from seismic information and does not affect Shindo values, event ordering, tsunami status or correction handling.
